Krumzi: an AI-native design platform where every generated design stays fully editable
I founded and built Krumzi from scratch. Think Cursor meets Canva: describe what you want, and AI creates the actual design: layout, typography, colors, composition, imagery and individual elements. The result is a real, structured design you can edit element by element, not a flat image you have to regenerate.

HOW KRUMZI WORKS
Prompt → editable designMost AI design tools hand you a flat image. Krumzi hands you a design you can keep editing.
Prompt
The user describes the design or content they want.
“A launch post for our spring sale. Bold, warm, product front and center.”
AI design system
The AI makes concrete decisions about layout, typography, colors, composition, imagery and element structure.

Structured design
A design document made of editable text, shapes, images, styles and layers, not pixels flattened into a PNG.
design {
frame 1080×1350
layers [
text "Spring sale"
text "Up to 40% off"
shape rect · radius 24
image product.jpg
group cta { shape, text }
]
styles { font, palette }
}Editor
The design opens in Krumzi’s browser editor, where every generated element can be moved, resized, restyled, replaced or edited manually.

(01)Context
Most AI image tools give you a finished image. If the title is wrong, the spacing feels off or one element needs to move, you often have to regenerate the whole thing. I wanted Krumzi to behave differently: AI should do the design work, but the user should still own the result.
(02)Role & scope
- →Product strategy and UX
- →AI and product architecture
- →Frontend and the browser editor
- →Backend, infrastructure and deployment
- →Continuous iteration from real usage
(03)Constraints
- C1AI output has to be a structured document the editor understands, not pixels.
- C2Every generated element must stay independently editable: text, shapes, images, styles and layers.
- C3A real-time editor has to stay responsive with large media in the browser.
- C4One person owning product, AI, frontend, backend and infrastructure.
(04)Approach & key decisions
Generate structure, not pixels
The AI design system outputs a structured design document (elements, layers, styles and layout) that the editor opens natively. That is what keeps every element editable.
A design system the AI works within
Prompts become concrete decisions on layout, typography, colors, composition, imagery and element structure, so the output looks designed rather than random.
One rendering layer for preview and export
React and Remotion compositions power both the live canvas and the final render, so what you see is what exports.
Open to other AI assistants through MCP
An MCP integration lets assistants like Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor create designs that arrive in Krumzi as editable structured designs.
(05)What was built

(07)Outcome
Krumzi is live: a product where AI is the core experience rather than a feature on the side, and where everything the AI makes stays yours to edit.
